On February 7-the Lunar New Year's Eve when every household was busy preparing for celebrating the new year, Zhou Haijiang, Party Secretary and president of HOdo Group was concerned about one thing: he would visit the employees with difficulties and send regards and New Year presents to them in order for them to have a good time on the Lunar New Year's Eve. Gu Linfen, an employee of the Knitting and Dyeing Plant of Nanguo Company, lives at Huangni Dam of Chenshi. Her husband passed away seven years ago and left her two sons: her elder son was mentally handicapped and her youngest son had just graduated from university. She shoulders a heavy burn of life for she has to raise her two sons all on her own. Gu did not talk much and what she said most was “thank you” when solatium was offered to her by Zhou Haijiang. Her warm smile and tearful eyes gave expression to her excitement at the moment.
When walked into Gu’s house for the first time, there was not a single piece of good furniture or an up-to-date household appliance. Zhou affectionately told her youngest son who was studying at school to study hard and it was his responsibility to look after both his brother and mother in the future. Now Gu’s youngest son has graduated from university and is working for HOdo. After refurbishing, Gu’s home is clean and neat. Gu Linfen said excitedly, “We are living a much better life and new hopes are in store for us. Thank you very much, thank you.”
